Runing Google Tasks on your linux desktop

I'm the kind of person that loves todo lists. I'm a list-a-holic. If I don't write it down or add it to a //TODO list I'm sure to forget it. For this reason I was looking for a solution to add a simple task list to my desktop. I have used google tasks a little, but never really got the full benefit out of it since I'm not always logged into gmail. Anyhow, with a little searching I found a way to add a desktop widget that will load your google tasks or whatever URL you want as a task bar application that runs on startup.

Here are a couple of links on how to do it:

Emacs org-mode

I too share you love of lists. If you are a bit crazy (like me), give emacs org-mode a shot. IMHO It is the best list making system eva (but if you don't already use emacs you might want to pass) http://orgmode.org/

Slap it on a webdav server and share across OSs - there is even an iphone app to edit the org files.

I feel the love

I feel the love, but I'm really after a simple solution. I like the fact that it's integrated with my google account. For more complex project management type stuff I use Jira. I used emacs a bit a uni, but it's been yeaarrss ..
