rbMan - Model-Glue upgrade
I've just upgraded my resource bundle manager to use the model-glue framework. You can check it out here. I found the process pretty pain free, but it was a fairly big mind shift from the previous fusebox 4.1 version. The beautiful thing is that i didn't need to change my model at all.
The MG framework takes all the fuss out of instantiating and caching the model in the application scope. It also holds all relevant information about the current event in an event object which is then used to pass any relevant data to the view in a viewState object. Values and arguments can be added to the event as needed and appropriate actions can be take. Config beans also provide a great separation of any configuration settings from the business model. This is quite handy.
There's a few issues I've still got to come to terms with. On large apps the model-glue.xml config file can become quite large making it pretty difficult to manage. It could foresee it becoming difficult to keep track of all the event names and keeping them unique for the whole app. There's also an issue with the config beans that worries me a bit. If you have multiple controllers you need to instantiate the config beans in each controller that needs them. I my opinion it would be better to have them instantiated at at global level.
