It's official. Tonight we lauched the Sunshine Coast Adobe Web User Group. I know ... it's a mouthful. We wanted to create a group that's going to cater to a broader range of technologies other than just Cold Fusion, Flex or Flash for example. Since we don't have the population of the big cities, we throught that the best way to draw a crowd would be to diversify a little. It's an official Adobe group, but we'd also like to keep the forum open for discussion of web technologies outside the specific Adobe product line. The hope is that with this kind of cross pollination of ideas's we'll be able to learn from other's experiences... ;) A large component of the group is from a design background, so we'll probably try to meet half way in between design and function, but with a core focus on web technologies.

We had a pretty good turn out for the first meeting and discussed the direction we'd like to take the group in. There's never really been anything like this on the coast, so everyone is really excited about it and keen to contribute with ideas and discussion topics. Overall, I had a great night and am looking forward to next months meeting with anticipation.
