Holiday Pics
We made it home safely after our big adventure. Langkawi was awesome and it was really great to catch up with Dad and Karen. I highly recommend Langkawi as an Asian holiday destination. You get the Asian experience with all the authenitc foods and sights, but without the food poisening. You can drink water from the tap and walk the streets in comfort. Because Langkawi is a duty free island the price of everything is amazingly low, even by Asian standards.
The flight home was not un-eventful. My brand new polo suitcase was ripped in half at some stage along the way. They stuffed most of my things back in and wrapped it all up in glad wrap. I say most of my things because my $200 swiss army knife disappeared. Shame on you Malaysian airlines. The only identifing feature I could spot when we picked it up off the carosel was the silver ribbon i tied onto the handle.
Anyway, we're home now. The first two weeks were living hell, but our holiday ended nicely with Graces wedding and a visit with my Dad. It's good to be home.
Here are a few pics.

G'day Jas
Have only recently checked your blog. Wow, sounds like you had the time of your life in Jakarta! (said with a heavy dose of sarcasm) I hope Nathanael and Paula didn't suffer too much.
Sorry to hear about your army knife too. Did you put in a claim with Malaysian Airlines? British Airways lost a part of our stroller once so we made a claim and they ended up buying us a new stroller because they couldn't get the part. Worth a try, though it may be hard for you to prove you had the knife in there.
So was Justin holding up the fort while you were away?
Glad to hear you made it back safe and sound, though probably a few kilos lighter ;)
Cheers
Nath
Welcome home Jason,
Pity about the travel home episode which sort a mars a truely wonderful holiday. Get in touch with Malaysia Tourism.
The pics I need to look at later. Had a glimpse and they look great!
I have decided to put 'holiday destinations' and agencies in my xoops site of course even before your holiday Langkawi would always figure as one such holiday so your experience will be great as an example if thats ok.
Did you get to the Cameron Highlands at all on your trip?
Love to the family.
Kate
Hey Nath,
it's good to hear from you. I'm going to try and claim it from Malaysian, but I'm not hopeful about it. I lost about 8kg and Nath lost 1kg. It's not so bad when you're by yourself, but seeing the little guy suffer was a bit much. We're all back to normal now, although I'm hoping that extra 8kg will stay in Indo for little while yet. Give it a few months behind the computer.... Think I better go for a surf tomorrow. :)
Hi Kate,
you'll love Langkawi. If you get a chance you should check out some of the Thai islands in the area. They're also very beautiful. There are plenty ferry services that can get you out there pretty cheaply. Not sure about the Cameron Highlands though.
